Shed Seven at Liverpool Carling Academy

Obviously not an ideal choice but I did not go down to the mosh pit but steadied myself against the balcony railing at the top.

Very enjoyable concert but very different from the Kaiser Chiefs the night before. Shed Seven have reunited for a "one-off" Greatest Hits tour so the audience was aged a little older than last night. Very much a singles night (as in they played their singles) and anyway I was on my own. My favourite song of the night was probably Chasing Rainbows which happens to be a single not on an album. I was waiting for Parallel Lines which I believe they have been playing this tour as part of the encore but it never arrived . . .

The other highlight for me (other than laughing at antics going on with broken microphones and audience members singing) was the guitar duelling between the two guitarists, united for the first time. Joe Johnson left in 1993 and Paul Banks took over. They took it in turns to do the defining riff on Dolphin just when we thought the song was over.

As they have only just got back together, their Official Website is quite poor. Even their MySpace page is better. But the best Shed Seven site would have to be the fansite, Magic Streets.

I also picked up a demo from Tom (the bassist)'s new band, people: in airports, which is really rather good, although their song on MySpace called Dwelling On You is my favourite and you can get it there free at the moment.
