I saw the Kaiser Chiefs perform their "biggest concert to date" on Saturday night and very good it was too but . . .
. . . I wish they messed around with the songs a bit more. I like concerts where the bands don't just perform the tracks as though they are recording them for the album. (Unless the concert is to do the album track by track, as I have seen Suede and Teenage Fanclub do). The Kaiser Chiefs did some longer versions, and I especially liked the long version of The Angry Mob, but a few more different versions would have been appreciated.
It was a great night though and a brilliant view. I was on crutches and so went to the disabled platform, and although I couldn't jump up and down and pretend to be young, I did at least have an uninterrupted view, which is rare for someone of my (lack of) height.
Best song, as I said, for me was The Angry Mob, though I did also like Love's Not A Competition (But I'm Winning) and will forgive them for the Meatloaf-style title.
Here's an excellent acoustic version of Love's Not A Competition (But I'm Winning) for your pleasure, together with the official video, which I think is clever, and the video for The Angry Mob, which Omi rather likes.
