Christmas Time!

Well the Christmas decorations are lighting up Liverpool, Christmas songs are playing in the shops and I got my first Christmas card today. As ever, the first one I get is always from my good friends, the Pet Shop Boys.

Known for the music and style, the Pet Shop Boys always excel themselves when it comes to Christmas cards. I have been a member of their fanclub (I think that means I am a Pet Head) for only a few years now, but I understand that their Christmas card tradition stretches back to their beginnings.

I never ever send them one . . . how nice of them.

And as if 3 albums in 18 months were not enough (Fundamental + Remixes, Concrete Live Album and Disco 4 Remixes), they were also kind enough to put up some exclusive tracks on their website. It's a bit of a bummer to link to, so you have to navigate to the main site, click Navigation, Products, and then finally Exclusive Tracks.

My dream CD (by the Pet Shop Boys) has been Compiled. Not only is it rare (10 only copies) and signed, but it also has 5 exclusive tracks on it. Two of them are now streamed on the PSB website.

It's available to buy from eil.com. A snip if anyone wants to get me a great investment present for Christmas, coming in at a mere £2,000. Now I reckon eil.com are about the most expensive way to buy records (thought they do get hold of rare stuff) and realistically a private seller would only get £1,000.

But there are only 10 of them and not often sold. I think one sold recently (in last year or so) on ebay.

POST SCRIPT : Having checked to get the link to the CD on eil.com for the blog, I see that it has now been sold! Bargain price obviously. Here is the historic description:

This legendary pressing includes Left To My Own Devices Frankie Knuckles Royal Piano Mix & It's A Sin Miami Mix and is complete with it's original Abbey Road title sleeve which has been personally AUTOGRAPHED by Neil and Chris!) ** Complete With Certificate Of Authenticity ** .
