On 13 October 2007, I saw the Happy Mondays in concert again. The last time being in March 2005, when Shaun Ryder was overweight and could not remember his words. Oh what a difference 21 months make. I think he would say the same of me now . . .
Shaun, Gaz Wheelen and Bez are all that's left of the Happy Mondays now. But the concert was one of the best that I have been to in ages - mostly because I went down the front and danced so hard I almost had a heart attack! All their greatest songs were played plus one or two from the Black Grape days.
I am writing this some time after, so I can't quite remember what my favourite song was but I think I shall go for Jellybean. It's a new song and a return to form and I really really enjoyed it.
It never got formally released as a single, and there is no official video that I know of. But here is a sampler of the song live.
