Tony Wilson, founder of (the now defunct) Factory Records in Manchester has died (see here).
In a way, Tony Wilson got me into music.
I was lying in bed listening to the radio in 1990 and Step On by the Happy Mondays came on. It blew me away. I went out and bought it on 12" from W H Smith. That started by love of music and buying music, rather than aimlessly listening on the radio.
I had bought some other stuff before, but that was the catalyst.
