I'm disappointed that Deltasonic have jumped onto the CD/2x7inch format bandwagon.
Re: The Coral new single
"The single is released on 30th July on CD and 2 x ltd numbered 7" vinyl.
CD
Who?s Gonna Find Me
Laughing Eyes
Who?s Gonna Find Me (video)
1st 7?
Who?s Gonna Find Me
Ghostriders In The Sky
2nd 7?
Who?s Gonna Find Me
The Voice "
Now, the CD Video is bound to be poor quality. Better to offer it as an iTunes download instead. So why not offer the CD Single with Who?s Gonna Find Me, Laughing Eyes, Ghostriders In The Sky and The Voice on it?
Because even Deltasonic want fans to buy all three formats and get a better chart placing. Non fans are not going to buy the single unless it is very very good, in which case they will download the title track only for 79p rather than spend 1.99 on the CD (or 2.99 or on a 7").
This hacks me off a lot. Even more so that Deltasonic are up to it.
Compare this to their first releases (also on Deltasonic)
SHADOWS FALL
Released 09/07/2001
CD
01. Shadows Fall
02. Simon Diamond
03. A Sparrow's Song
THE OLDEST PATH
Released 03/12/2001
CD
01. The Oldest Path
02. God Knows
03. Short Ballad
04. Flies
SKELETON KEY
Released 01/04/2002
CD
01. Skeleton Key
02. Dressed Like A Cow
03. Darkness
04. Sheriff John Brown
Much better value. And hence why I like to support bands by buying early releases whereas I no longer would bother buying the latest single by The Coral. And these early singles that have value songs on them? They are sold up but are worth £40 now.
